New Menu Now Live

Our team has been working hard behind the scenes preparing a new menu to reflect seasonal changes! We have worked very closely with our suppliers, including spending half a day at Capital Produce learning all about their vegetables, to develop a menu that both starts with, and celebrates, the ingredients.

We’re proud to present a menu that celebrates halal meat, free range chicken, and local eggs.

Our menu is easy to eat and full of flavour. It’s been a collaborative effort amongst our team of talented chefs and we’re confident in saying through this process we have reached the perfect product.

We want to thank some of our key suppliers PrimeStar, Capital Produce and Gilmours for providing us with quality ingredients!

Let us shout you a coffee

To celebrate the launch of our new menu we’re giving away coffee cards to our sister company Glou Glou, an espresso (and soon to be wine) bar located in Allen St, Wellington, just a stone’s throw away from Food Envy HQ!

All you need to do is mention this article with your next order, and we’ll pop one in for you!

Farewell and congratulations to Max

We want to congratulate our departed Head Chef Max who has left Food Envy to open his own cafe with business partner, Alexis.

Next time you’re in Island Bay head out to Beach House and Kiosk to check out their brunch menu.

Max had made a powerful impact on our company, clients and team. He had an incredible nack for passion and detail for the industry and Food Envy. His personality and leadership will always remain

Congratulations Max, you’ll certainly be missed at Food Envy. We wish you all the best!

Promoted to Head Chef - Meet Jamal

We’re proud to announce Jamal, an experienced chef of almost 25 years, has been promoted to Head Chef at Food Envy. Jamal has been with us for two years now as Senior Sous Chef and has demonstrated strong culinary and leadership skills.

Jamal started his career at Toast on The Terrace in 2001, with a 7,000 hour apprenticeship after finishing high school.

Since then Jamal has worked at a number of places around New Zealand including Auckland and Hamilton, but as a born and bred Wellingtonian, he has spent the majority of his career here.

Outside of work Jamal is a keen Rugby League fan having just retired his boots last year after years of playing premier league (165 games!), before coaching for a few years. Now Jamal spends his weekends with his two kids, a boy and a girl, and playing golf. His favourite course in Wellington is Judgeford.

Jamal says everything is good at Food Envy – so good he can’t decide on a favourite dish.

When he’s not at work his go to dish is the humble baked beans on toast. It just goes to show it doesn’t matter what level your culinary skills are, you just can’t beat a classic! He also enjoys cooking with the kids, pizzas and burgers are on rotation when Jamal wants to get them involved.

And Jamal’s favourite thing about working at Food Envy? The people!

We are very lucky to have Jamal leading our team of talented chefs and we look forward to continuing to watch him flourish.
